6 Week Mindfulness Meditation Course - Melbourne


Join us for an in-depth 6 week mindfulness meditation course based on MBSR and similar programs.

Sessions will take place on Monday evenings at 6:30pm and each session will go for 90 minutes. 

Location: Smiling Mind HQ - Collingwood, Vic 

The course will commence on Monday the 20th May 2019 and will run over 7 weeks until the 1st July 2019 - there will not be a session on 10th June.

Week 2 - Are You Paying Attention?

  • Mindfulness of the Breath Meditation

Week 3 - From Thinking to Sensing

  • The challenges of excessive thinking
  • Shifting into sensing mode - how and why
  • Bringing mindfulness into your every day - introduction to informal practice
  • Mindfulness of Sounds Meditation

Week 4 - Stress: Responding vs Reacting

  • The stress response and problems of chronic stress
  • Moving from the red zone to the green zone
  • How mindfulness can help
  • Mindful Movement Practice

Week 5 - How Does That Make You Feel? Mindfulness and Emotions

  • Why we have emotions
  • Emotional intelligence and emotion regulation
  • Happiness myths and making room for discomfort

Week 6 - The Road Ahead: Sustaining Personal Practice
